This Helmut Newton photograph and it's life-sized sister print (same ladies, same decisive moment, but couture clothed) were sold out of (my favorite) French Quarter gallery last week for a record sum. I went to see them in the flesh for the last time before the German collector collects them tomorrow. Cartier-Bresson exhibit upstairs.

It's hot in the Quarter already. I walked in the shade of the balconies along Royal. Well-watered ferns dripped on my head.
